5 students were injured in a bus crash.

BEAR, Del. (WPVI) -- Five students suffered minor injuries after police say a truck struck a school bus in Bear, Delaware.

It happened shortly before 4:10 p.m. Monday on Summit Bridge Road.

Police say the driver of a Dodge Ram pickup truck was behind a school bus.

The school bus was stopped in the right lane due to another bus stopped ahead with red lights flashing.

An UTZ truck was stopped directly in front of the bus.

Police say the Dodge Ram pickup truck struck the rear bumper of the bus.

After the collision, the bus continued northbound and struck the UTZ truck.

The driver and 18 students were on board the bus. The school bus was from the Delaware First State Military Academy.

Five students were transported by EMS to the Christiana Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The intersection of Summit Bridge and Red Lion was impacted for approximately one hour while the crash was investigated and cleared.

The driver of the Dodge Ram pickup truck was ticketed for Inattentive Driving.
