A man was struck by a train in Kensington.

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- A man was injured after being struck by a SEPTA train in the Kensington section of Philadelphia.

The incident happened just before 10 a.m. at the Huntingdon Station on the Market-Frankford Line located near Kensington Avenue and East Huntingdon Street.

Officials say a man was either lying down or sitting with a portion of his leg extended over the platform when he was struck.

The man was trapped for a short period of time between the train and the platform until emergency personnel freed him.

He was then transported to Temple University Hospital in stable condition.

Service resumed on the Market-Frankford Line around 11:30 a.m.
