PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) --The city is apologizing after some drivers say their cars were mistakenly towed or ticketed instead of relocated ahead of the Philly Free Streets event.
A city spokesman tells Action News the city will refund people and cancel the tickets that were issued. Anyone who has not paid to retrieve their car can do so without payment.
The official says "No Parking" signs were posted along the entire event route beginning Thursday and ending at 8 p.m. Friday. In addition, flyers were placed on doors and the Streets Department made robo-calls to affected residents prior to the event to inform them of the parking restriction. The information could also be found on the event's website.
Nonetheless, the city apologizes for the inconvenience the towing may have caused.
