PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) --Police have identified the suspects arrested during a three-day operation targeting narcotic sales in Northwest Philadelphia.
The names and photos of those accused can be seen in the gallery above.
Investigators with Philadelphia Police Special Operations said the arrests were made in late September and resulted in the seizure of thousands of dollars in cash and drugs.
Busts yielded almost 100 bags of evidence including marijuana, OxyContin, Xanax, and almost $60,000 worth of crack.
Also seized: $17,000 in cash.
50 arrests were made, with many of the suspects wanted for violent crimes. Investigators say there's no doubt the streets in the northwest division are safer today.
"We're going to continue to try to apprehend violent suspects drug dealers and users every day. Every day," said Insp. Melvin Singleton said during a news conference on September 27.
High crime rates, specifically shootings, sparked the raids.
The suspects range in age from teens up clear up to those in their 60's.
Detectives say the amount of drugs and cash they recovered is great but not what's most significant: it's the arrests of several dangerous suspects that are now off Philadelphia streets.
"Quality of life is important when you own a home so therefore we want to make sure they understand we have not forgotten them," Singleton said.
Detectives say this mission to reduce crime does not end with this sweep, and more arrests are expected.
