VIDEO: Mom's note blaming 'teenage-ism' for daughter's lateness goes viral
A handwritten letter from one California mom to her daughter's school has become an anthem for all parents of teenagers.

A handwritten letter from one California mom to her daughter's school has become an anthem for all parents of teenagers.

The brutally honest and real note was sent it in with her 14-year-old daughter who was late for class.

And the reason for the tardiness? "Teenage-ism."

Nicole Poppic says like a lot of teens, her daughter Cara overslept.

And according to the note, then spent the rest of the morning talking back.

Nicole says Cara is the oldest of 3 and when she tried to remind her that she's not the only person in the family, Cara tuned her out, popped her earbuds in and started listening to music.

So mom tossed the cell phone out the window, explaining in her note to school that Cara "suffered from an inability to remove herself from her bed," but seems to be coming to her senses after the cell phone thing.

Nicole also asks to lease call her if there is another flareup and adds that as far as she knows, there is no known cure for "teenage-ism."

She ended by saying Cara is a good kid and not bitter about the phone or the wildly viral post.
