Pennovation ctr. for innovation and research

UNIVERSITY CITY (WPVI) -- A major new development was welcomed along the Schuylkill River Wednesday.

This is the Pennovation Center.

The 23 acre site, located at 34th and Grays Ferry Avenue, will serve as a hub for innovation and research.

Scholars, students and experts from the private sector will use the space to brainstorm and generate economic development for the city of Philadelphia.

The project is a partnership between the EPA, the Philadelphia Industrial Development Corporation and the University of Pennsylvania.
