Man charged in deadly 2014 Holmesburg hit-and-run

HOLMESBURG (WPVI) -- Police have made an arrest in a fatal hit-and-run in the Holmesburg section of Philadelphia in 2014.

43-year-old Christopher Cook has been charged with accident involving death, homicide by vehicle, and involuntary manslaughter.

On Dec. 23, 2014, around 5:20 p.m., police say 33-year-old Theresa Pozzi was crossing State Road in the 8500 block in Philadelphia's Holmesburg section.

Police said she stopped in the median and that's when a truck hit her. The driver fled the scene.

A few witnesses stopped to help her.

Pozzi was transported to Aria Health Torresdale where she succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities released surveillance video of the striking vehicle and a reward was offered for any information leading to an arrest and conviction.

Police say they received an anonymous tip identifying Christopher Cook as the suspect who struck Pozzi.

Cook was arrested on Wednesday.
