Police: Reported abduction in Juniata was made up

JUNIATA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police tell Action News there is no truth to a report of an abduction in the city's Juniata section.

A man reported to police that shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday he saw a woman being hit over the head with a baseball bat and dragged into a car along the 600 block of East Erie Avenue.

The witness said the victim was wearing hospital scrubs when a man shoved her into a black Toyota Corolla.

After investigating, police say the story was unfounded and there was no abduction.
