SPRING GARDEN (WPVI) -- Millions of faithful across the world are observing the holiest holiday on the Jewish calendar Tuesday night.

Action News was invited to Congregation Rodeph Shalom in Spring Garden, for the Kol Nidre service, which marks the start of Yom Kippur.

Yom Kippur, or the Day of Atonement, is observed with 25 hours of fasting and prayers.

It ends at sundown tomorrow.

The high holiday caps off a ten day period of soul searching, which began with Rosh Hashanah or the Jewish New Year.
