POTTSTOWN, Pa. (WPVI) -- A local mom says her family is embarrassed and dehumanized after an incident at a Montgomery County restaurant.

Teri Lyn Jensen-Sellers took her kids to the Friendly's restaurant in Pottstown for lunch on Saturday.

They were waiting for to be served when one of her sons started to cry.

She says 5-year-old Lind is partially non-verbal autistic and she explained that she needed a little bit of food to calm him down.

"Within five or seven minutes, the manager came over, and he says, 'People are looking at you. Your child is crying excessively. You have to leave'," she recalled.

Jensen-Sellers says she she asked for a little more time because they still waiting for their food, but the manager still kicked them out.

Friendly's corporate office says it is aware of what it calls the "unfortunate circumstances" and says the manager of the Pottstown location plans to address the issue.

Jensen-Sellers not only wants an apology, but is using this incident to raise awareness.
