VIDEO: Ancient mummy gets CT exam
The mummy of a child from ancient Egypt has become a star again.

The mummy of a child from ancient Egypt has become a star again. This time, showing off just how far medical technology has come.

The mummy was x-rayed in 1896, just after the technology was created.

The skeleton was visible, but the x-ray didn't answer any questions about the child.

Now, with a second look by CT-scan, German scientists say they know it's a boy, 4 to 5 years old, and he had some medical problems, including sunken chest and an enlarged liver.

He lived in the 3rd or 4th century B.C.

Without any obvious injuries, they still don't know why he died.

That might be for the next generation of technology.
