Brawl outside bar leads to man being run over by car in Elizabeth
Carolina Leid reports from Newark.

ELIZABETH, New Jersey (WPVI) -- A wild brawl in New Jersey led to a 19-year-old man fighting for his life and his cousin also getting injured.

The victims of this brutal attack say it started with a misunderstanding in a nightclub.

One man bumped into another, words were exchanged, and that led to the brawl on the street.

The video shows some using bats as others stomped on the 19 and 21-year-old cousins.

It's hard to believe, but it escalated from there with several vehicles rolling over the 19-year-old man.

The victim's mother told sister station WABC in Spanish that the video "is horrible".

She hopes it helps police arrest the people responsible.

It happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at the corner of Erie Street and 2nd Avenue in Elizabeth.

Cameras at a deli across the street captured the assault.

The 19-year-old victim needs multiple surgeries on his legs.

His cousin has a broken arm, and told WABC they were out on the town for fun, not a fight.
