A shooting left a teenager dead, and police say a local rapper and his entourage were involved.

POWELTON (WPVI) -- A manhunt is underway for a local rapper and his entourage who, police say, were involved in a shooting that left a 19 year old man dead.

The incident happened early Saturday morning inside the Jollie's West bar on the 3800 block of Lancaster Avenue in the Powelton section of Philadelphia.

Police say rising Philadelphia rapper, PNB Meen, and his entourage were hanging out at the bar where he'd just performed.

Around 1:45 a.m. there was an altercation between the rapper's crew and someone else. The dispute quickly spilled onto the street.

Gunfire erupted and a 19-year-old man was shot once in the chest.

The victim was taken to the Penn Presbyterian Hospital where he was pronounced dead less than an hour later.

Police recovered a gun near the scene.

Denise Sistrunk of West Philadelphia says, "I think it's basically an isolated incident because of a party that might have been going on in there. So no, I still, I really love the neighborhood."

But it's frustrating for business owners like George Reed who are invested in this budding community and are worried incidents like these will drive customers away.

Reed tells us, "This neighborhood is changing over, you know? We are trying to go up. That kind of thing brings us back a step. So, that's the thing that upsets me."

Witnesses tell police the men got away in a black BMW. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact police.
