WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) --Investigators say a suspicious fire in West Philadelphia has displaced five people and sent one man to the hospital.
Firefighters were called shortly before 3 a.m. Sunday to the 5000 block of Race Street.
Officials say the fire started in a vacant three-story building.
When firefighters arrived, flames were shooting out of the second and third floors.
The smoke and flames also damaged two neighboring homes where people were living.
Investigators are questioning squatters who were living in the vacant home which was being renovated.
There's no word on the condition of the injured man.
The Red Cross is helping the victims with temporary shelter.
