WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) --The fire department was called in to help remove a dead whale that was discovered in the Port of Wilmington.
Crews hope a necropsy will help them figure out how it ended up there.
Marine Education, Research and Rehabilitation Institute says there appears to be fishing gear tangled around the whale's fin.
The whale could have possibly been struck by the bow of a large ship in the Delaware River and pushed into the port.
