Honoring the National Champion Villanova Wildcats

VILLANOVA (WPVI) -- It seems like yesterday when Kris Jenkins hit that buzzer beater 3-point shot to win the National Championship for Villanova. But the Cats are back! The season tips off in just 2 weeks.

The team was presented with their championship rings Friday night, and the championship banner was unveiled.

And that's not all.

Head Coach Jay Wright says, "We have a new '85 banner, because our other one is old, ya know? And to see [the new banner] next to it is really cool. And I know I'll be emotional tonight when it's unveiled."

A few of the players from the 2016 championship team were on hand as well.

Kris Jenkins tells us, "It's really exciting to share this moment with our student body and to get our rings. It's something we worked hard for, so hopefully we can do what we got to do to get another one."
