A Jersey Shore taxi cab driver was stabbed and then drove himself to a police station in Atlantic City.

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- A Jersey Shore taxi cab driver was stabbed and then drove himself to a police station in Atlantic City.

It happened before midnight Wednesday on the unit block of Stenton Place.

Police say the attacker stabbed the taxi driver in the eye and hand.

The attacker then fled the scene.

The cabbie drove a block away to the police station for help.

Medics took him to the hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

There is no word on why the cab driver was stabbed.
