A Philadelphia charity showcased its work in front of a national audience this week on ABC's "The Chew." The Philabundance non-profit helps to alleviate hunger in our city.

On Tuesday's episode, members of the Philabundance Community Kitchen made an appearance on the show. The Community Kitchen - founded as an adult culinary arts vocational training program for low-income men and women teaching them the skills to work in commercial Kitchens. The food they prepare in the PCK training program supplies meals to emergency shelters for the homeless and those in transition.

They shared the emotional stories of those they've helped and, as a special surprise, the charity received a $5,000 donation from the ABC 'Be Inspired' program. They also announced Disney/ABC's 1 million dollar pledge to 'Feeding America' - to support local food banks across the country.

Students prepare meals at the kitchen every day for the homeless and those in transition.
