PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Wednesday night on 6abc, the Goldbergs are celebrating Thanksgiving.

But not everything goes as planned in part because of a special appearance at the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day parade!

The Thanksgiving Day Parade is a tradition we look forward to every year at 6abc.

The same can be said for the Goldberg family on tonight's all-new episode.

Murray and Uncle Marvin decide to ditch the family holiday tradition all to see "KITT" from Knight Rider in the parade.

Tonight's episode of 'The Goldbergs' features actual clips from parades past and was directed by actress Lea Thompson.

Both she and Goldbergs star Wendi McLendon-Covey say tonight's episode will hit home for plenty of people stressing over the holidays

"This a very, very personal show. And it's very specific, which I think is wonderful because it also makes it more universal because it feels real, it feels like it comes from a place of love," Thompson said.

"Everybody means well. And this family means well. And I think it's comforting to look and say hey, wait, they're not doing it right, we're all not doing it right, but we're trying and we're showing up and doing our best," McLendon-Covey said.

6abc is your home for the Dunkin' Donuts Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Join Alicia Vitarelli, Rick Williams, Cecily Tynan, Karen Rogers and Adam Joseph for all the fun.

It starts at 9 a.m. on Thanksgiving Day.
