TRAINER BOROUGH, Pa. (WPVI) -- A Delaware County boy raising money to help a local police officer battling cancer, got a big surprise Monday night.

5-year-old Avery Graham was presented with several gifts and a resolution showing the county council's appreciation.

Councilman Dave White saw the story of Graham selling bracelets and wanted to reward his efforts.

Trainer Borough Police Officer Steve Adamek and Graham formed a friendship while Adamek was on patrol in his neighborhood.

Graham has raised over $2,000 for Officer Adamek's medical care.
