5 vehicles crash on the Schuylkill Expressway in University City

UNIVERSITY CITY (WPVI) -- A five vehicle crash closed the eastbound Schuylkill Expressway for several hours early Thursday morning.

It happened around 1 a.m. under the 30th Street overpass in Philadelphia's University City section.

Police say there were three separate accidents.

The Action Cam was there when crews hoisted a tractor-trailer from the crash scene.

Three other vehicles were also towed.

One person was treated at the scene.

Police have not said if the rain conditions played a role in the crash.
