Driver hits police car in NE Philly, suspected of DUI

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA -- A suspected drunk driver was arrested after hitting a police vehicle in Northeast Philadelphia.

It happened around 1:15 a.m. Thursday on Roosevelt Boulevard near Tyson Avenue.

Police say the driver side-swiped a detective's unmarked vehicle then fled the scene.

He was stopped nearby on Knorr Street and taken into custody to be tested for DUI.

The detective was not hurt.
