Man found shot on sidewalk in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is hospitalized in critical condition after police found him lying on a West Philadelphia sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds.

It happened around 10:45 p.m. Monday near 58th Street.

Officers arrived to find the victim suffering two gunshot wounds to the head and one to the leg.

He was rushed to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in critical condition.

Police believe he was shot at close range and was the intended target.

They have not made any arrests. The motive for the shooting remains a mystery.

Investigators hope nearby surveillance cameras will lead them to a suspect.
