Police officer injured in crash in Brewerytown

BREWERYTOWN (WPVI) -- A Philadelphia police officer was taken to the hospital after a crash involving another vehicle in the city's Brewerytown section.

It happened around 2:20 a.m. at the intersection of 26th Street and Girard Avenue.

Both vehicles collided at the intersection.

The officer suffered head, neck and back injuries.

He is in stable condition at Hahnemann University Hospital.

The two people inside of the civilian vehicle were not injured.
