Exotic bird escapes owner?s home in North Wilmington
Rescue efforts are underway to save an exotic bird that escaped from its owner's home in Delaware.

NORTH WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- An exotic bird that escaped from its owner's home in Delaware has been returned safely in North Wilmington.

Over the past week, several people were trying to capture the pet macaw.

The 4-year old parrot was spotted on Friday morning near Springer Middle School, which is near the home.

Victor Rash, the bird's owner, was worried that the bird would die in the cold temperatures.

"He's going to be with me for the rest of my life and now I think I'm going to lose him. It's just so upsetting," said Rash.

Rescuers said every time they got close, the bird flew away.
