Police: Victim shot and robbed by teens
Police are investigating after a shooting and robbery in Wilmington.

WILMINGTON (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a shooting and robbery involving a teenager in Wilmington.

Officers were called around 5:40 a.m. Sunday to the 300 block of East 5th Street for the report of a shooting.

Police say a 70-year-old man was approached by a boy, described as being 13 to 14 years old, at 13th and French streets.

The teen pulled out a gun and demanded the victim's items.

Police say a struggle ensued and the victim was shot.

The suspect then fled the area on foot in an unknown direction.

The victim walked to the area of the 300 block of East 5th Street.

Arriving officers discovered the man suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg.

He was transported to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.
