Pedestrian struck and killed in Delaware

MILLTOWN, Del. (WPVI) -- A car struck and killed a pedestrian in New Castle County, Delaware.

It happened on Kirkwood Highway near Limestone Road in Milltown at 7 a.m. Monday.

Police say a man was crossing the highway, and the car hit him when he was in front of the Midway Shopping Center.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver stopped nearby and was taken to an area hospital with a number of injuries.

There was no immediate word on that person's condition.
