Philadelphia police officer charged with assault, terrorist threats

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A 17-year veteran of the Philadelphia Police Department turned himself in Wednesday for arrest on several domestic-related incidents.

Fifty-one-year-old Gerald Smith has been charged with six misdemeanors, including assault and making terrorist threats.

He's suspended with intent to dismiss.
