LAWRENCE, Ks. (WPVI) -- Two words: Kobe Buffalomeat.

It's a name actually, and a real one.

And it's the one that has everyone talking after National Signing Day.

Illinois State University tweeted their welcome to the lineman from Lawrence, Kansas as the newest Redbird.

Buffalomeat told Jimmy Kimmel that he's 6'7" and 285 pounds. He said he's used to having his name get a little bit of attention.

"When I introduce myself, they always say 'Is that really your last name?' Yes it is. You go to airports, grocery stores and you pay with the card. They'll kind of look at it, double take and then they ask my mom or me, is that really your last name?" he explained.

In case you were curious, it's a Native American name - Cherokee, Chalktaw and Cheyenne Arapapo.

His parents are Paula and Ray and his siblings are Anthony and Samantha Buffalomeat.

He was named after Lower Merion native and NBA star, Kobe Bryant.
