Man struck running across street in NE Philadelphia

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man is critical after being struck by a SUV in Northeast Philadelphia.

Chopper 6 was over the 1500 block of Grant Avenue Friday night.

There around 6:15 p.m., a 26-year-old man was struck by a white Buick Enclave that was traveling westbound along Grant Avenue.

Police say the man was running across the roadway when he was struck.

Medics responded and the victim was taken to Aria-Torresdale Hospital for care.

The driver of the striking vehicle remained at the scene.
