Power restored at hospital after truck takes down poles
Police have located the driver of a truck who took down utility poles and fled the scene in Trenton.

TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police say surveillance video helped them track down the truck that took down utility poles and fled the scene in Trenton.

The crash happened on Bert Ave. around 9:30 a.m. Monday.

Power had been knocked out to St. Francis Medical Center, but has since been restored.

Traffic on busy Hamilton Ave. was being diverted onto a side street because the road is dug up. It's part of the construction of a new high school.

As it was being driven down Bert Ave., the truck caught some wires, snapping two poles in half and sending four transformers to the ground.

The situation forced the hospital to turn ambulances away from the emergency room and cancel some procedures.

Police say video from a nearby surveillance camera helped them identify the vehicle as a McDonald's delivery truck. They are still working to identify the driver.

Investigators say they don't know if the driver was aware the lines were hit.

Police say, at the very least, the driver will face summonses for leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
