Police are searching for a suspect who open fired outside a nightclub in the Philadelphia section of Port Richmond.

PORT RICHMOND (WPVI) -- Police are searching for a suspect who open fired outside a nightclub in the Philadelphia section of Port Richmond.

It happened around 11:15 p.m. Tuesday at the Penthouse Club on the 3000 block of Castor Avenue.

Witnesses told police a gunman got out of a vehicle and opened fire into the crowd.

February 15, 2017 - Police are searching for a suspect who open fired outside a nightclub in the Philadelphia section of Port Richmond.

The patrons then ran for cover, but they say it appeared two to three men were the intended target.

Those men ran back into the club, and eventually left the area in a vehicle without contacting the police.

Many of the witnesses say they hid for thirty minutes, fearing they would be hurt.

Police found no blood or evidence that anyone was hurt at the scene.

They've checked area hospitals, but so far, no one has come forward.

Investigators found strike marks from bullets, and at least fifteen shell casings.

One of the bullets hit a nearby car and a neighboring building.

Police say the suspect was last seen running down Castor Avenue.

So far, there is no word on a motive for the shooting.
