Suspected handbag thief caught on camera in East Oak Lane

EAST OAK LANE (WPVI) -- The search is on for a man Philadelphia Police say robbed two women - one 69 years old, the other 77 years old - in broad daylight.

The suspect was caught on surveillance video.

Investigators say the man approached the victims on the 6600 block of North 6th Street in the city's East Oak Lane section on February 2nd around 11:15 a.m.

They say he pushed them to the ground and took their handbags.

Investigators say he drove off in a red- or maroon-colored Buick sedan with a Pennsylvania tag.

Anyone with information about the case or the suspect is asked to contact Philadelphia police.
