PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Keeping up with your kid's clothing can feel like a full-time job, so we've got an easy way to get rid of the things you need and make some money.

Kids outgrow their clothes so quickly - I feel like I also have a mountain of giveaways. And now I know just where to send those items - and make some money.

Mom and entrepreneur, Lisa Batra, started My Kid's Threads in Newtown, Bucks County three years ago.

"I realized how difficult it was to outfit them in really nice clothing without breaking the bank." she said.

On MyKidsThreads.com, high-end kids clothing is as much as 80 percent off retail!

"This is a faux fur jacket, it retails for $100. We have it on the site for $34.99," said Lisa.

Batra picks up local consignments or you can request a free bag with a pre-paid shipping label. Fill it up with clean, laundered clothing that's either new or looks new.

"We offer 40% to 50% of the resale price based on your payout method. Most moms choose the 50%, My Kids Bucks, which is store credit they can use to purchase the next size up," she said. "We've had moms earn up to $1000 consigning with us."

There's no membership fee and My Kids Threads takes clothing of any season - any time!

The consignment period is one year.

And the website just started offering maternity wear, too.

Upscale boutique Knit Wit has lost the lease at its Rittenhouse Row location, so everything in the store is 50% to 75% off retail prices.

"So we have some big designers you don't normally see at this high percentage off, Alexander Wang, and we have tons of jeans J Brand, Citizens of Humanity, Autumn Cashmere sweaters," said Jenna Knouse from Knit Wit.

Different designers, different styles. And everything from clothes to shoes to hats.

"We're out of here at the end of March so until that time, it's going to be on sale but we'll continue to get new sale stuff in, too so it's not like it's all going to clear out," said Jenna.

The store is located at 1729 Chestnut Street right now. Owner Ann Gitter says she is looking for a new space in Philadelphia.
