Man found shot to death inside car in Pemberton
PEMBERTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found inside a car in Pemberton, Burlington County.
It happened around 9 p.m. Tuesday in the 100 block of Kinsey Road.
"I heard like maybe six shots, then about 15 minutes later I seen the road full of flashing lights," said one witness who did not want to be identified.
Officers arrived to find Shaquille Williams, 24, shot multiple times.
"It's an active investigation. We still have a lot of people to talk to whether it be residents in the neighborhood, any friends, relatives," said Lt. Brian Wechis.
Police are still searching for a suspect and a motive, but neighbors have their suspicions.
Benjamin Parciaeo said he heard it was retaliation for "something that happened like six months ago."
"Not a safe neighborhood anymore and nobody doing anything about it. You know there's drugs, you know there's guns, you know you're going to have your house broken into," said Carmela Foley.
Lue Wolosin was asleep in a bedroom when police raided this house two doors away from the murder scene early Wednesday morning looking for a possible suspect.
A state police tactical unit tossed diversionary devices into the home at the time, sparking an attic fire that caused a fair amount of damage.
"I got drug outside with no shoes on, no socks, no coat, nothing," he said.
Homeowner Manny Bell says police tossed his house unnecessarily and it's now unlivable.
"Basically they were saying that they was looking for somebody, but the person was not in here. They could have come in and looked if they wanted to, they didn't have to do this to my house," said Bell.
Investigators were also photographing and examining a black sedan parked in front of Bell's home.
Police are asking anyone with information to give them a call.
