What's the Deal: Spring cleaning and decluttering
Spring cleaning is a great time to streamline, but it's even better if you can make space and make cash.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Spring cleaning is a great time to streamline, but it's even better if you can make space and make cash.

First, if you have stacks of DVDs clogging up drawers and cabinets and entertainment centers, listen closely.

You may have heard of Vudu, a service from Walmart where you pay a fee to have physical DVDs and Blu-rays converted to digital files.

They just launched it in app form, so all you do is scan the barcode and the title appears in your digital library.

The Vudu app is free, but it does cost anywhere from $2 to $5 a disc.

But then, you can make some of that money back. Websites like secondspin.com and decluttr.com will buy the physical discs, including CDs, so you get some of that money back.

When it comes to selling stuff you're not using, there are two places you probably check into daily where there's an audience for your things.

First, Amazon's "marketplace." This allows you to sell your items alongside businesses.

You can sell things new or used depending on the item and category. They do charge you 99 cents for every item you sell.

Then there's the completely free Facebook Marketplace.

It can be found through the little shop icon.

Based on where you live, the social network now shows you who is selling what.

You post what you're selling...and once you get a sale, you work out the exchange with your buyer. It's also a great way to shop for deals.
