A woman has died after a crash in Philadelphia's Roxborough section. (WPVI)

A woman has died after a crash in Philadelphia's Roxborough section.

It happened around 12:30 a.m. Sunday on Hagy's Mill Road near Belfrey Drive.

Police say the driver of a car struck a deer and slammed into a PECO utility pole.

The pole then fell onto the car, splitting it in half, police say.

The 22-year-old female passenger was ejected from the vehicle.

She was rushed to Einstein Medical Center where she died from her injuries.

The 27-year-old male driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
