Body recovered from retention pond in Middletown, Del.

MIDDLETOWN, Del. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating the discovery of a body in a retention pond in Middletown, Delaware.

Officers were called around 8 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a body in the retention pond on the 800 block of Middletown-Warwick Road.

New Castle County Dive Team members recovered the body from the water and searched the pond for any additional evidence.

The deceased is that of an adult male, but remains unidentified. The body has been turned over to the Medical Examiner's Office for further investigation.

Police say, at this time, there is no indication of any motor vehicle being involved with the incident.

The Middletown Police Department continues to investigate and says it will disclose new information as it is develops.
