Man trapped in car after crash on I-95 in SW Philadelphia

SOUTHWEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are investigating a crash on Interstate 95 in Southwest Philadelphia that left a man trapped inside his car.

It happened around 3 a.m. just south of Island Avenue.

Investigators say a 29-year-old man lost control of his car. The vehicle overturned, trapping the driver inside.

Firefighters worked for about 20 minutes to free him. He was rushed to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Traffic had to be detoured around the scene during the investigation.
