Cosmopolitan magazine causes controversy with misleading headline
Cosmopolitan magazine is under fire for the story attached to a recent social media post.

Cosmopolitan magazine is under fire for the story attached to a recent social media post.

On Monday, the magazine tweeted a photo of a smiling, fit woman and the headline: "How this woman lost 44 pounds without ANY exercise".

But if you clicked the link, the story wasn't quite what it seemed.

Simone Harbinson, 31, spent 2 years battling life-threatening health scares - including a rare cancer.

The story follows her journey back to health, but the headline only focuses on her weight loss.

People on Twitter were outraged, calling this tone deaf and insensitive with people disgusted that the reason she lost weight was because she was sick and couldn't work out.

Harbinson is an exercise guru and shares her road back to feeling good and fit on Instagram.

Following the backlash, Cosmopolitan quickly deleted the tweet and changed that headline, which now reads: "A serious health scare helped me love my body more than ever."
