A busy stretch of 17th Street in Center City is finally back open. (WPVI)

A busy stretch of 17th Street in Center City is finally back open.

Crews finished repairing a broken water line and patched up the road between Walnut and Locust Wednesday afternoon.

It was Monday night that a hole opened up underneath the street, causing the pavement to give way.

Crews had to make it even larger to fix the issue.
