Doctors have tried a host of supplements and drugs to stop preeclampsia, a dangerous complication of pregnancy.
But new research suggests the secret may lie in the body's own immune cells.
A University of Mississippi team found a variety of immune cells that gets altered as preeclampsia develops.
But removing those altered cells in lab animals cut high blood pressure and allowed a fetus to grow normally, two major effects of preeclampsia.
Right now, the only solution is early delivery.
