EDMONTON (WPVI) -- Hockey fans in Canada weren't going to let technical difficulties stand in the way of a pregame tradition.

Prior to Sunday night's Stanley Cup Playoff game between the Edmonton Oilers and Anaheim Ducks, country music star Brett Kissel was set the perform American national anthem.

However, as the Canadian singer began, it was apparent there were microphone issues at Rogers Place.

That's when Kissel had an idea.

"Let's sing it together," he said, as loud as he could.

And without hesitation, the Canadian crowd belted out their best rendition of the Star-Spangled Banner, in which the NHL called an "incredible moment."

"Mic didn't work for the anthems tonight @RogersPlace. But no worries. The best singers & fans are in #OilCountry! @EdmontonOilers!" Kissel tweeted.
