Just A Baby app helps connect hopeful parents. Alicia Vitarelli reports during Action News at 4:30 p.m. on May 12, 2017.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- The concept of swiping left and right in search of a perfect match is now extending to a new set of hopefuls - parents.

There's a new app called "Just a Baby" and it's for anyone trying to have a baby or help another family achieve that goal.

From egg and sperm donors, to those looking for one, to available surrogates and families trying to find one - this app allows people all walks of life to achieve one common goal: to become parents.

Paul Ryan and Gerard Edwards from Australia came up with Tinder-esque app.

They say they especially found that a lot of gay and lesbian couples were hitting dead ends in their attempts to grow their families.

They call this a human, warmer alternative to the traditional channels.
