Police investigate fatal hit-and-run on I-95 in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, Del. (WPVI) -- Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash on I-95 in Wilmington, Delaware.

It happened in the southbound lanes near MLK Boulevard around 4 a.m.

There was no word on the circumstances of the crash or why the pedestrian was on the highway.

Investigators say the man killed is 53 years old, but his name has not been released.

The striking vehicle is described as a silver or gray Nissan.

State police are investigating.
