MIDDLE TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- Two men have been arrested for the alleged sex assault and murder of a 15-year-old girl in Cape May County, New Jersey.

Derrick Powers, 23, and Charles Mosley, 33, have been charged in the death of Nicole Angstadt back in December.

The charges announced Friday by the Cape May County prosecutor's office include murder and 'murder during the course of a sexual assault.'

Both Powers and Mosley were arrested shortly after Angstadt's body was found.

At the time, Mosley was charged with having sex with the underage teen, while Powers was arrested for an unrelated robbery at Mulligan Park.

Both men are behind bars in lieu of $1 million cash bail.

Angstadt had been reported missing by her mother on December 1st, and her body was found by police in the crawlspace of a home in the 100 block of Vermont Avenue in the Rio Grande section of Middle Township on December 14th.

Neighbors said at the time that the house has been vacant since the homeowner died over the summer, and local teens have been using the property as a hangout.

Nicole's sister told Action News back in December that, despite some minor scrapes with the law and orders to report to a probation officer, Nicole was a friendly teenager who always made time for friends and family.

"I loved her, she was great. She was funny, she was sweet," said Heather Bradley, her older sister.

The prosecutor's office said the investigation continues, and anyone with information on Angstadt's killing is asked to contact them at 609-465-1135, or the Middle Township Police Department at 609-465-8700.
