Teddy Bear Care in Camden
Students went to Cooper University hospital, but it wasn't for an emergency

CAMDEN, N.J. (WPVI) -- More than 100 students went to Cooper University hospital Wednesday morning, but it wasn't for an emergency.

They got an important hands-on lesson in health care.

The kindergarteners from KIPP Cooper Norcross Academy helped sick teddy bears.

They started off in an ambulance, learning about emergency care.

From there, the group took their stuffed patients inside to check their hearts,

The students, turned doctors for the day, even bandaged a few wounds and also took x-rays.

The idea, is help kids get over fears of going to the doctor and teach them a healthy lifestyle.
