Preventing the tragedy of home fire

KENSINGTON (WPVI) -- Philadelphia firefighters spent the day educating families on the importance of Fire Safety.

They went door to door along the 25 hundred block of North Water Street in Kensington making sure every home was equipped with working smoke detectors.

They installed first Alert Smoke alarms wherever they were needed.

In the last few weeks, there have been several deadly fires in the city.
