ALEXANDRIA, Va. (WPVI) -- A passerby captured the shooting during a congressional baseball practice on Wednesday morning that left Rep. Steve Scalise of Louisiana, and several people, seriously injured.

GOP members of congress, along with staffers and security, were at a community park in Alexandria, Virginia when more than 50 gunshots rang out.

Noah Nathan was walking his dogs when the gunman opened fire.

Scalise was one of the first to be hit. He was shot while playing second base.

The lawmaker's security detail returned fire.

The gunman, identified as 66-year-old James Hodgkinson, of Belleville, Illinois, was shot by officers. He died at the hospital.

Several other people were also wounded. They're all expected to be okay.
