12-year-old child struck by Maserati in Parkside

PARKSIDE (WPVI) -- A 12-year-old child is hospitalized after being hit by a car in Philadelphia's Parkside section late Friday night.

It happened around 11 p.m. near the intersection of 50th Street and Parkside Avenue.

Police say the 12-year-old darted out into traffic. The driver of the Maserati hit the child, but did remain on scene.

The victim was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, where they remain in stable condition.

The incident remains under investigation.
